Vafios such as the entire island of Lesvos is especially rich in flowers. Spring is the best time for the flowers and with so many different habitats on the island, they are present in surprising variety. The best months for the flowers are March, April and early May.

Visit the church of St Ioannis (1 Km away from our apartments). Once you get there you will be amazed by the wonderful and peaceful landscape. This beautiful little church was built during the 1st decade of the 20st century. It is said that a man from Vafios who had a vision, decided to build this little church for the grace of St Ioannis the Prodromos.
